Voiding does not delete them and is therefore compliant with the law. It is a feature, for example in HMS and Mastercare.

It does happen that an error is identified after a case note has been finalised. I do draft notes, but ideally finalise them on the same day of the event so as not to have an accumulation of draft notes.

Process suggested: click on case note and have option to void with reason for voiding to be given; then the case note is marked as voided.

Benefit: Clear indication that there is an error in the case and therefore should be disregarded.

Unrecognised errors may have serious consequences for a client as case notes are used for consistent treatment.
